Englishman Hemming arrived at Saints in late June 2023, with the expectation that he would be understudy to established number one at the club, Trevor Carson.

Unbeknown to both the media and supporters however, was that privately Carson had requested a transfer and Hemming had been brought to Paisley as number one, a fact confirmed by Stephen Robinson on the eve of Saints season starting at Montrose in the League Cup.

Hemming has played over 60 matches on loan before joining Saints, including 46 appearances for Kilmarnock so should be well adjusted to the Scottish game as he looks to gain more vital first team experience.

  • Competitive debuts for new goalkeeper Zach Hemming, Conor McMenamin and Mikael Mandron. Academy graduate Luke Sutherland would also make his debut from the bench late in the match.
