East Kilbride

Saints have only faced East Kilbride twice in a competitive fixture, with the first ever meeting the challenge cup match between the two clubs in 2017. On that occasion very late Ross Stewart and Lewis Morgan goals gave Saints a 2-1 win after falling behind with only ten minutes remaining when Dominic McLaren nodded home for the visitors.

Ross Stewart lofts the ball over Jacob Kean in the East Kilbride goal to equalise for Saints after 87 minutes in the first ever fixture between the clubs.

Despite a remarkable performance by the EK keeper Jacob Kean throughout a frustrating night for Saints, Billy Stark was unable to leave Paisley with an unlikely victory when Stewart knocked in a late equaliser by beating Kean to the ball, and then Morgan fired home an injury time winner after a period of sustained pressure finally paid off deep into injury time.

In 2019 during the first few weeks of Jim Goodwin’s time as Saints boss, the clubs drew 0-0 in Lanarkshire and in the resulting penalty kick shoot out, the Lanarkshire side succeeded to knock out top seeds Saints.
