
Abercorn F.C. were from the East of Paisley and for the first 20 years of football in the town were the biggest club. Like Saints, they were founder members of the Scottish league, but would be defunct within a few decades of this promising beginning. What happened to them?

In 2001 with Saints fighting relegation from the SPL, a South American agent who was originally from Paisley contacted manager Tom Hendrie and told him Ronaldinho was open to moving to Saints. This is what happened.
