A full Northern Ireland international, Carson arrived at St Mirren during the summer of 2022 from Dundee United for an undisclosed fee to replace Cardiff City bound Jak Alnwick as number one at the club.

The vastly experienced keeper had played over 350 club matches beforehand including spells at Sunderland, Hartlepool and Motherwell where he had previously worked with Stephen Robinson at Fir Park as well as a loan spell at Morecambe in 2022.

Carson is renowned for excellent shot stopping and handling under pressure and has proven already to be a shrewd acquisition.
