A powerful and mobile forward, Ayunga re-joined Stephen Robinson at Saints in the summer of 2022 after the two had worked together at Morecambe the previous season.

Although born in England, Ayunga pledged his international career to Kenya in 2015, however the African nation are currently banned from playing matches by FIFA due to “governmental interference”.

Ayunga has had an impressive debut season for Saints, forming a very effective partnership with Curtis Main, where he has notched 7 goals before his campaign came to a premature end in January when he suffered a serious injury against Motherwell keeping him out for at least 6 months.
