League Cup Group E

Central Park, Cowdenbeath
Cowdenbeath0-2 St Mirren

Ayunga 19Ayunga 23

Att: 683  Referee: Craig Napier

  • The manager persists with a 4-3-3 formation, and although Saints win comfortably against the non-league side, the performance is again far from convincing.
  • Jonah Ayunga scores his first goals for the club in only his second match; however, it is Ethan Erhahon who stands out for the second game in a row with an outstanding performance in the centre of the park, continuing the return to somewhere near his best under Robinson.
  • Ryan Strain makes his first appearance in a Saints shirt, the maiden outing for the spectacular all black Paisley Pattern laden Joma extravaganza, but the Australian looks very short of match practice. Peter Urminksy starts his first match for the club also after several years on the bench following an injury to Trevor Carson.
