After failing to break through at Celtic where he was up against Jimmy Johnstone for the right wing slot, 18 year old Glaswegian Kenny Aird signed for Saints in June 1965 and would play 45 times for the club before leaving for St Johnstone two seasons later where he would enjoy great success in Perth in his six years at Muirton Park.
Five years at Hearts would follow, before the winger had a brief stint with Toronto Metros in MLS in 1977 and finished his career at Arbroath shortly after.
